Breaking Amish aired the final part of its reunion episode during which no more light was shed on the paternity issues pertaining to Rebecca Byler’s baby girl. The only thing she did say in the reunion before becoming defensive then clamming up completely was that she was unable to say more on air because of a “legal issue” about which she cannot go into any more detail.
She cannot say what happened. However, there is a lot of anecdotal evidence that paints the picture for her.
Byler said during the finale that she got married “in 2009.” Her marriage records put the date closer to 2010. In any case, she was still legally married to first husband Rufus Hostetler when she ran away to be with Abe Schmucker. She cheated months into the marriage back in 2009/ 10. About which Hostetler wrote on Facebook October 31, 2010: “I am tryn 2 figure out why in th world abe schmucker wud want to b a friend on face book afterall he left wht my wife.”
She conceived her child while married to Hostetler but having the extramarital affair with Schmucker. There’s a photo of her allegedly a “few weeks” pregnant with her baby girl June 11, 2010. And there’s anecdotal evidence from the woman with whom Byler and Schmucker were living during the pregnancy about their time living together before the birth. Byler finally got divorced July 2012.
During the finale, Byler said: “I wasn’t with my ex when I found out I was pregnant. But I did call him and tell him and he absolutely denied that it was his.” With vague wording that sort of suggested it’s her ex-husband’s kid. However, during part two of the reunion, Schmucker said: “What I’m upset about… like Rebecca said, that’s her daughter.” Not “our daughter.” Which makes it sound like it’s not Schmucker’s kid either.
However, there’s evidence today that the baby IS Schmucker’s.
The same woman with whom the couple lived in 2010 kept photos and posted them to Facebook. Included is a photo of Schmucker in 2010 while he and Byler were living with Shannon Marie Edwards who previously told her story to National Enquirer and posted this photo of Byler pregnant in a bikini taken the same night. Edwards re-posted the photo to BreakingAmishTheExpose with the caption: “ABE IN 2010 AT THE SAME POOL PARTY IN KY WHEN HIM AND REBECCA LIVED WHEN SHE FOUND OUT SHE WAS PREG THIS WAS BACK IN 2010 THAT DUDE IN YELLOW THEY SLEPT IN HIS CAMPER TOGETHER.”
Moreover, Abe Schmucker’s brother Andrew Schmucker (who was also featured on Breaking Amish) has a Facebook page from where a photo of the couple’s baby girl was purloined a few months back.
From the same Facebook page, there’s a photo of Andrew Schmucker saying “[It's] my bro Abe’s [baby].” The photo was re-posted to BreakingAmishTheExpose today with the caption: “Abe and Rebecca continue to pretend that they were nothing more than friends before the show. Abe refuses to answer the fatherhood question so I’ll just let his brother answer that one.”
Underneath the re-posted photo, a commenter claimed: “I know who Rebeca’s ex is and he couldn’t have kids so that leaves Abe as the father.”
For good measure, there’s also a mug shot of Andrew Schmucker who was arrested for public intoxication along with Abe Schmucker in 2008.
guess what america i love breaking amish and if they have secrets or other personnel things thats their bisuness so if the show were fake then why would they take time out of thier day to do a reunion hey rebbeca had a baby whatever i thats her life not yours you all are liars not them and all you guys obviously dont have lifes if your gonna take time to look up stuff like pictures and police records get a life i love breaking amish and thats that just saying my opion

Okey i lvoe the show its awasome Abe and Rebecca are awsome im glade they got married and to the point about her daughter that is her daughter key word world HER daughter i mean the only people that should be concerned is her grandparents,her and Abe. I understand why everyone is upset if its not your kid just say no its not but you knwo if someone says im not talking about it then dont talk about it i love Jermiah he rocked no matter about his past his kids are what matter and thats all that should matter Sabrina and Kate were awsome too im glad they got there lives on stright.Keep it up everony have fun and i hope they come back in a while for a refesh to see how they are doing.
Ooooo please! We all know he is the dad. Legal issues ok! The ex husband wants to know whos baby that is. Because she has money now he wants some. So look out for paternity test. We all know thar baby is his. This was one way to get money,be together all of it.they needed an outlet to show case their lives. Ok enough about them. That guy Jeremiah he is an abusive guy.u can see it in his eyes. End of story.kate she needs meds for crazy ass bitch. Yep crazy that one is. Sabrina well she slow minded. If you don’t want every part of your life turned upside down and looked through then don’t go on TV. Don’t pretend things didn’t happen. I can’t stand Rebecca, pretending to be so innocent and naive, Abe is just whipped and does everything she wants. Why do people have a hard time telling the truth and coming out clean. Why do you think people kept watching the show? to find out if all those rumors and exposed pictures and stories were true or not. I liked the show but was very disappointed when in the end Rebecca and Abe are the only ones who didn’t come clean about their “past” together. It just makes you want to hate them more. Grow up!
