It is finally official. After a year of separation, Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli are now divorced. For mutual 90210 and Twilight fans, this may be a bit depressing, to say the least.
Garth, the 41-year-old former 90210 actress, and Facinelli, the 39-year-old actor who starred in the Twilight series movies, finalized and signed their divorce order on June 11, according to TMZ. On that day, they officially terminated a 11-year-long marriage. While the news may come as sad to many, especially to their 15-year-old daughter Luca Bella, 10-year-old daughter Lola Ray and 6-year-old daughter Fiona Eve, the former couple plan on maintaining a rather positive and amiable relationship post-divorce. That’s definitely not common.
TMZ reported that Garth and Facinelli will work in tandem in regards with providing financial care for their children. The two declined “spousal support” and plan on opening up a joint bank account for their children. Both of them will put in equal amounts of money into the account with full access to it. If this divorce plan sounds at all like an easy compromise, there’s more. Garth and Facinelli also have consented to an equal custody of the children between the two; this means that both Garth and Facinelli will get the same amount of time with their children. They do not plan on actually making any actual formal custody order. Usually one parent strives to have more power over the other in this case, but unity is cool too. These two stars are emblems of parents working together for their children despite their own issues.
Would it be oxymoronic to call this a bonding divorce?
