This will shock no one, but Kris Jenner sees dollar signs in her daughter’s relationship with Kanye West.
When news broke on TMZ.com that West and Kim Kardashian went on a date to see The Hunger Games in New York City, the tabloids scurried to confirm the union while throwing together seemingly-random itemised listcles of every subsequent date (basically, they went toy shopping and had dinner at a few pap-heavy restaurants).
However, one questions how newsworthy the relationship really is when pro-Kardashian Us Weekly is the only tabloid that deigned to feature the couple on the cover. And, even from pimp momager’s pocket, the magazine opined on the cover whether this was staged for mutual financial gain (Page Six quickly concluded, yes, it’s another sham).
The relationship will be featured on Keeping Up With The Kardashians seasons seven, although sources say it won’t be the focus of the show. But it’ll obviously boost numbers. The promotional trailers will probably mention the couple hooking up and “falling in love.” Some spin, something labouring the point, to make Kardashian sympathetic during a nasty divorce and cheating allegations. And to distract from the divorce altogether.
And now a source for RadarOnline said in plain English what we already knew, Jenner is “thrilled” to be able to shill the life out of this relationship too.
“Kris is thrilled about Kim’s new romance with Kanye,” a source close to the Kardashian family says. “She loves that they’re together and thinks Kanye is a huge step up for Kim after her marriage to Kris Humphries.”
“Dating Kanye puts Kim in a whole new stratosphere,” the source says. “Kris was just a basketball player making a few million dollars a year, but Kanye is a world-wide multi-millionaire superstar. His money and fame are all going to benefit Kim now and she’s going to have all the perks of being his girlfriend, and her mom thinks this is going to be great for her own career.”
