Beyonce made her first appearance since giving birth to Blue Ivy Carter on January 7, 2012.
At the time of the pregnancy, there were rumours and pillow conspiracies partly because of inconsistent reporting of the due date from the mother. It was a mess; she had a bump one minute, not the next, and the bump literally seemed to deflate during one recorded interview.
Early in the “pregnancy,” Beyonce made an appearance in a bikini that revealed little more than she ate too many carbs that day.
As the pregnancy went on, rumours devolved into convoluted blind items about medication taken to mimic the effects of pregnancy so Beyonce could pretend to be carrying, possibly while a surrogate waited in the wings, while meds inflated and deflated the singer’s body as needed.
However, in the very late stages of the pregnancy, Beyonce did seem to become soooo preggo in the face that people stopped questioning the legitimacy of her pregnancy. Mostly, at this point, people seem to think she was really pregnant.
When she gave birth, there were reports that Beyonce and husband Jay-Z shut down the floor of a hospital and spent $1.3 on redecorating several brand new rooms (and bullet-proofing if ITW is to be believed). The Notorious B.I.C reportedly has diamond-encrusted jewels and toys and bottles, and a fancy stroller and a blinged out nursery. That’s the tabloids story, anyway.
And, finally, here is Beyonce supporting Jay-Z’s charity gigs at Carnegie Hall in New York City on February 6. Photos show the singer’s post-baby body in a red Alice Temperly dress. She’s suitably (still?) thick in the hips and thighs, but her face has slimmed for sure.
