Beyonce and Jay-Z have shared the first official, real photos of Blue Ivy Carter.

The pictures are from Jay-Z’s Life & Times site, which links a dedicated blog HelloBlueIvyCarter.Tumblr.com ripped right from the Mariah Carey playbook. There’s also a handwritten statement: “We welcome you to share our joy. Thank you for respecting our privacy at this beautiful time in our lives. The Carter Family.”

The photos offer the first clear look at Blue Ivy Carter’s face. She’s basically a cleaned-off newborn as delivered (by FedEx). She was probably only a few hours or days old when these were taken.

Beyonce looks… like she lost weight from her face right after giving birth. And Beyonce looks like she cleaned up too, with a fresh face and that “birthin’ weave” the tabloids said she had done especially.

And it’s hard to tell, but that’s either the parent’s NYC nursery or a hospital suite with amazing lighting and very nice-looking furniture.

Whatever pillow shenanigans and birthin’ conspiracies have occurred… that is a damn pretty baby. Whom do you think the baby looks like? Ashanti?
