Will Kristen Stewart & Robert Pattinson Still Promote Breaking Dawn: Part 2?
August 2, 2012 by Hollywoodite
Now that it’s been established Us Weekly Magazine’s photos of Kristen Stewart are real (fans maintain, to this day, the photos are Photoshopped even though veracity has been confirmed, indirectly, by Stewart’s public apology) people want to know whether the 22-year-old and Robert Pattinson, 26, will endure the promotional trail for Breaking Dawn: Part 2.
Any question of whether Stewart will tolerate day-long junkets deflecting questions about why she cheated, and whether Pattinson will tolerate impertinent questions about being cheated on, is answer today. Summit’s president of worldwide marketing Nancy Kirkpatrick tells Entertainment Weekly in a statement: “While it is studio policy not to comment on the personal lives of actors, Summit is moving full steam ahead and looking forward to November’s opening of Breaking Dawn: Part 2. We are confident that the film delivers amazing entertainment for our passionate fans and general audience alike.”
Stewart and Pattinson will be expected to sit for joint interviews and attend premieres together. According to The Daily Mail, Pattinson is “dreading” the upcoming promotional tour. A source explains: “He is in pieces but the Twilight love triangle story line is nothing without him and Kristen. It is eating him up that he has no choice but to see her again because of work. His humiliation is total.”
Actors from the movie have been talking to Us Weekly. Uncredited Breaking Dawn: Part 2 extra Amanda Dyer says in the new issue: “Talking with friends who saw Kristen and Robert at events, it seemed almost like Kristen had started to pull away. It just looked like something was missing between them.” Christian Serratos, who plays Angela Weber in the saga, tells Us Weekly: “Of course people are fans of us now, but I think above anything, they’re fans of these characters. I don’t think anyone’s really gonna give a s**t [about the cheating scandal]. They’re gonna see the movie. It’s going to be awesome.”
In related news, Pattinson is getting ready to complete the Cosmopolis promotional trail with its release later this month. He will fulfill his duties for that movie too, his rep confirms in a statement: “Cosmopolis is a film that Robert is very proud of and looks forward to supporting. No confirmed engagements have been canceled. Any reports to the contrary are inaccurate.”
And The Hollywood Reporter claims Stewart is contractually-obligated to do another Snow White & The Huntsman movie. Rupert Sanders is not under the same duress. However, Universal want and expect Sanders to return to direct the SWATH sequel.
