Kim Kardashian Went To Haiti To Shop, Attend Fashion Show, Lied About It?

Kim Kardashian has been caught lying. Again. This time it’s a mess of her own making.
The 31-year-old wrote a whiny blog, bemoaning a story in last week’s National Enquirer about her time in Haiti. The story has turned out to be mostly true (people only went digging, belatedly covering the NatEnq story, because of this pointless post on Kardashian’s blog).
Some media outlets have tried to tarnish the motive behind my visit and have written completely ridiculous and untrue things.
The National Enquirer wrote that I went to a fashion show in Haiti and then spent a fortune pampering myself! The truth is that I was at the Haitian Artisan Fair, where the amazing men and women who make their jewelry and crafts sell them to visitors to make a living, and I bought some of their beautiful jewelry after the fashion show!! Reading this made me so disappointed in the media.
Taking such a positive thing and writing something malicious and untrue.
The journalists obviously didn’t bother to do their research and instead published a ridiculous story to sell copies. I have ignored all of this until now, but because I wanted to write a few blogs about my experience, I felt I needed to address this first. I have become accustomed to dealing with rumors and lies spread about my family or my relationships, and have learned to ignore it to a certain extent.
But when a magazine makes the decision to twist the truth and write lies like that, it belittles the entire experience we had in Haiti, and I won’t let them do that. – via Kim Kardashian’s Blog.
NatEnq alleged that Kardashian only went to Haiti to rehab her image in a staged photo op, attend a fashion show, do some shopping, and relax in her hotel. It was supposedly some charitable trip to the area affected by an earthquake nearly two years ago. However, she and her mother just mugged for the press, did some shopping, and then lied about attending the fashion show because it sounds vapid and no one in Haiti owns a video camera/ camera phone.
Oh wait.
During her 48-hour stay in the nation’s capital, the reality TV diva, accompanied by her mother/manager Kris Jenner, stayed in a $1,000-a-night hotel suite, traveled in a royalty-worthy convoy with her own photographers and bodyguards, and strutted down the runway in a fashion show.
But she mostly avoided the squalid refugee camps where an estimated 600,000 Haitians remain homeless with little access to sanitary facilities and clean water. When she visited a school to hand out Christmas presents, it was the area’s most prestigious academy… and orphans were bused in to meet her! – via The National Enquirer.
So… yeah, Kardashian’s own, vague wording makes it sound like she didn’t attend the fashion show. At any point. Instead arriving thereafter to purchase items at an unrelated craft fair. Except that’s not true. NatEnq called it, there’s VIDEO of her walking in the fashion show she denies being at. And, by her own admission, she did effectively go shopping. So… the tabloid hit the nail on the head.
