Hugh Hefner Talks About Lindsay Lohan’s Marilyn Monroe-Inspired Cover
Lindsay Lohan’s Playboy cover is going to be a lazy rehash of her 2008 New York Magazine cover where she went nude, aping vintage photos of Marilyn Monroe. Or, it could be a copy of the 2009 Vogue Spain cover in which a clothed Lohan copied Monroe again. Oh… and, adding insult to injury, Lohan directly compared herself to the late actress in a passage from Marilyn: Intimate Exposures.
Lohan’s somehow managed to convince her remaining stan that she’s this generation’s MM. She’s not. She’s an annoying, terminally-underemployed, crack-toothed recidivist. Monroe was timeless and literally breathtaking to look at.
Does not compute.
Anyway, Lohan’s MM-inspired January/ February 2012 Playboy issue will be on newsstands in December and Hugh Hefner is shilling the the cover after finally deciding that the 25-year-old’s second attempt was good enough. Page Six has a little information on why this took two attempts…
Hugh Hefner wasn’t pleased with the initial photos of Lindsay Lohan from her shoot for Playboy.
Lohan had been on-set between court dates last week with photographer Yu Tsai, hairstylist Serena Radaelli and makeup artist Francesca Tolot, but the shoot was extended into the weekend after Hef didn’t like the results.
“He felt the initial shots looked too much like a Kate Moss-inspired fashion story, Lindsay’s choice, where he wanted more of a classic Hollywood Marilyn Monroe feel,” a source said. This weekend, Lohan was accompanied by lawyers, agents and publicists who, sources said, “gave their two cents about what was considered ‘nude’ and what was not.”
Sources said Lohan ended up delivering the Monroe-inspired images Hefner wanted. She’s expected to appear nude, but “strategically covered up” in certain shots. Reps for Lohan and Playboy declined to comment on the shoot, but Playboy confirmed that Lohan will be featured in the January/February issue. – via NY Post, Page Six.
