16 & Pregnant Season 5 Star Announced: Karley Deatherage Shipley
16 & Pregnant season 5 filming is underway and days ago, the identity of the first cast member was revealed.
According to a report by The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, 17-year-old Karley Deatherage Shipley is the latest teen to be featured on the hit MTV series.
Karley and her husband, Tony Shipley, who she married in the Spring, are expecting twin girls this December. At first, Tony was reportedly not thrilled that Karley was expecting two girls but since then, he has embraced the idea. They’ve even picked out the girls’ names, Amaya and Amariah.
Although Karley doesn’t appear to have any active social media profiles at the moment, Starcasm was able to find an old one which had a pretty detailed description of Karley.
“I don’t hate anyone, i’m easy to get along with. my life really never contains drama, for the simple reason that i don’t care enough to get involved,” Karley had written, “I’ll go along with mostly anything and be happy while doing it, even if i don’t like it. i love laughing and it happens often, i always have fun, whether i be doing something exciting or very uneventful; easily entertained, for sure. don’t be a stranger, i’ll be polite.”
MTV’s official season 5 announcement came this past June and can be seen below:
MTV is casting for the thought-provoking documentary series “16 and Pregnant.” This series follows the journeys of young women as they face unexpected pregnancies and navigate the difficulties of becoming parents at a young age.
Our goal is to give viewers a look inside the realities of teen pregnancy — from morning sickness and balancing school responsibilities to navigating incredibly difficult decisions and relationships with boyfriends and/or parents, ultimately to the day of the baby’s arrival and beyond. MTV is looking for young women from varying backgrounds who are facing an unplanned pregnancy and would like to share their personal story about this life-changing and complicated journey.
So far, there is no word on when fans can expect to see 16 & Pregnant return to MTV, but if the season follows the pattern of those before it, the premiere could be as soon as Spring 2014.
