Alex McCord Offered Just $400 To Appear On Bethenny

October 3, 2013 by Lindsay Cronin

Alex McCord and Jill Zarin made headlines yesterday after they turned down an offer to appear on Bethenny Frankel’s daytime talk show, Bethenny. The pair, along with a few of their other former co-stars, were in talks to take part in a Real Housewives of New York reunion special, but unfortunately, the lowball offer presented to Alex and Jill was considered to be “insulting” and they both declined.

“The show called Alex’s publicist and told them about their grand plan, but said that all they could offer her was $400 — which is less than the SAG minimum,” a source told Radar Online. “A reunion of that scale and significance is worth a lot more than pocket [change]. Alex kindly said no.”

When she heard the news, Bethenny was reportedly “stunned” that Alex turned down the appearance, but what did she expect after her minimal offer?

In a video uploaded to The Stir yesterday afternoon, Alex opened up about Bethenny’s insulting offer.

“I said, ‘Show me the money.’ Her offer was laughable,” Alex explained. “It was less than union scale. I would make more money sending one fashion tweet.”

Alex continued to tell fans that the only possible silver lining would be the chance to promote her products, but at the end of the day, there would be no guarantee that the plug would air.

“I am savvy enough to know that unless the show is live, that any promotion I do of my products… will all end up on her cutting room floor,” she stated. “So why do it? If there is ever a New York City Housewives reunion, it should be on a grand set, with a big budget, the talent should be paid, it should be beautiful.”

Despite turning down the offer, Alex says she has no ill feelings towards Bethenny.
