Amanda Bynes Could Face Jail Time Because Of Recent Arrest

May 28, 2013 by Lindsay Cronin

Amanda Bynes may have been released from jail just hours after her arrest last week. However, she may soon be heading back to the big house. According to Burbank County District Attorney Denny Wei, Amanda is currently on probation stemming from her driving without a license case back in Los Angeles and the Manhattan D.A.’s office could push for her to be charged with a violation.

“As of right now we have not been alerted by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office that they recommend us review the case for a violation, but these things take time,” Denny explained to In Touch Weekly. “If they do send us the case prior to a conviction, we would review the facts and seriously consider if we are going to move forward with filing a probation violation with the court.”

If that does happen, it will be seriously bad news for Amanda. If she’s found guilty of a probation violation, she will be facing a $1,000 fine and up to 6 months behind bars.

On Thursday, Amanda was charged with reckless endangerment, possession of marijuana and tampering with evidence after she allegedly threw a bong out of her 36th floor window. Amanda denies using drugs and claims that the alleged bong was actually a vase.

“My lawyer is getting my case dropped!” Amanda announced on Twitter earlier this afternoon. “There was no proof of sexual harassment or drugs. Instead of me asking for the cop to be arrested for sexual harassment, I want my case dropped as well. His punishment will be being the cop who sexually harassed someone who would never find him handsome enough to be my boyfriend. That’s worse than any time in jail. But I am suing him for money compensation. I love having more money in my bank!”

Amanda is due back in court on July 9 to address her pending charges.
