Freak Out or Fashion Statement? Amanda Bynes Shaves Her Head…Again

Though it didn’t seem possible, the crazy world of Amanda Bynes may have gotten just a little bit crazier. The latest member of the good girls gone bad club opted to alter her appearance yet again. This time, Bynes followed the grand tradition of celebrity meltdowns and shaved half of her head. But was it a breakdown or a new beginning?
From her bizarre behavior—recently, reports claim that she was kicked out of the gym for smoking weed on 4/20—to her ever-changing looks, Bynes has been a gossip column regular for weeks. The former Nickelodeon star was the target of particularly harsh criticism for her less-than-subtle extensions. Yesterday, she took to Twitter to clear the air and debut her new look. “I buzzed half my head like @cassie!” she excitedly tweeted as she posted one of her increasingly popular selfies. “No more old photos! This is the new me! I love it!”
But this isn’t the first time the seemingly troubled star cut her hair. Earlier this month, she chopped her tresses because of what she claims was an accident at John Barrett Salon. She defended herself on Twitter, saying: “I had to shave my head because of hair damage from someone @John Barrett so I’m not loving my paparazzi pics for a few years. I have extensions but you can see them!” After all of the negative feedback, the star clearly decided to go for something more drastic and start fresh.
Many are undoubtedly having a hard time keeping up. And everyone is still wondering if the new look means that Bynes will join the ranks of Miley Cyrus or Britney Spears circa 2007. As of right now, the forecast ahead is still unclear for the 27-year-old. No matter what happens though, Bynes will more than likely keep us posted via her diary-style tweets.
