Amish Mafia: Alan Beiler Sentenced To Jail for Attempting to Elude Police, Drug Charges
August 8, 2013 by Hollywoodite
Alan Lee Beiler is the self-proclaimed “Black Amish” cast member from Discovery’s docu-series/ reality show Amish Mafia.
Beiler is one of the cast who has been called out for obfuscating his backstory. He is adopted and he is Amish (photo of Beiler and his adoptive mother, below).
However, he left out the part where he’s also a television producer and spent years pitching ideas for reality shows not dissimilar to Amish Mafia. Moreover, he has ties to Sabrina High from Breaking Amish, another reality show on the same channel.
Previously, Beiler was arrested for eluding police and drug possession (the Amish Mafia cast also has a real bad problem with substance abuse). He pleaded guilty to attempting to elude police, drug possession and driving with a suspended license. And today, he’s been sentenced by Perry County Judge Kenneth A. Mummah to between 3-23 months in jail.
A Pennsylvania man who stars in the television show “Amish Mafia” will serve three to 23 months in prison for a police chase last summer that injured a state trooper.
Thirty-five-hear-old Alan Beiler received the sentence Thursday in Perry County Court.
Police say the Lancaster County resident led police on a chase after they tried to stop him for an expired car registration in July 2012. They say he drove against traffic during the chase and caused a pursuing state trooper to crash and suffer a concussion.
Beiler pleaded guilty in May to charges of attempting to elude police, drug possession and driving with a suspended license.
Defense attorney Mark Forrest Walmer says his client turned his life around since the incident and has been drug-free for a year. – via The Sacramento Bee.
