Lebanon Levi Really Does Work Construction Job: Owns C & L Siding and Treated Decks

During episode two of Discovery’s Amish Mafia, Lebanon Levi is shown sitting atop the roof of a house in his native Pennsylvania as he explains that he works in construction which makes him good money. He also suggests that it’s a cover for things like Amish parties and extortion. Although, it’s apparent he doesn’t need the money after being referred to as one of the “wealthiest guys in town.”
It can now be proven whether or not what he said about working construction is true (you can assume the racketeering is a falsehood to make Amish Mafia sound more interesting).
His real name is Levi King Stoltzfus under which he still has a MySpace account from 2010. This account lists his occupation as “construction” and gives further detail as follows: “c&l siding n decking roofing (9 years); richland, pa US; owner.” He really does work in roofing in his hometown and has done so for a decade since the company was established in 2002 (Note: he’s also a firefighter).
A little research reveals that “C&L” stands for “Chris” and “Levi” the latter being Levi Stoltzfus and the former being his business partner Chris Stoltzfus (probably also his brother). Under their business description, they claim: “C & L Siding & Treated Decks is a locally owned and operated and has over 9 years experience. When you work with one of the best you can count on their expertise in beautifying your home. Call today because we take pride on doing the right job the first time.”
Services offered include building ”Decks and Porches… Repair Roofing Asphalt Shingle Roofing,” and more. Service Areas include the Lebanon area of PA from where “Lebanon Levi” took his moniker. They’re licensed as “ Home Improvement Contractor” with “General Liability” insurance up to $2,000,000.
A review of their services from August 20, 2009 says: “Levi and Chris were wonderful. We had them unstall two dormers. They showed up on Monday morning, on time, they worked all day without a break or lunch left late. Showed up early Tuesday morning and were completely done two beautiful dormers by tuesday afternoon! They were professional, knowledgeable cleaned up after themselves and I would definetly recommend them. We will be using them for future projects.”
Another from July 13, 2009 says: “I highly recommend C&L Siding. They replaced my old deck with a beautiful 14×26 deck with a roof. The quote they gave me was more then fair. They worked fast and were very neat. The entire project was completed in less then four days.The quality of their work was excellent. My neighbors were so impressed that they asked for a qoute to replace their deck.”
Another from June 11, 2009 says: “Although they did not show up on the day they said they would, when they showed up the next day they were very nice and professional. Levi immediately found the problem and took care of it. Hopefully this will stop the water from coming in.”
The Better Business Bureau has no complaints against “C & L Siding and Treated Decks.” Lists the type of business as a Partnership between “Mr. Levi K. Stoltzfus, Partner” and “Mr. Christ S. Stoltzfus, Partner” under the Business Category: “SIDING CONTRACTORS; WINDOWS; WINDOWS – INSTALLATION/SERVICE; DECKS; DECK CLEANING & SEALING; REMODELING SERVICES; ROOFING CONTRACTORS.” (Note: The brother’s name is listed as “Christ” under BBB but customers seem to call him “Chris”).
