Angelina Jolie Signs On To Salt 2, Wants To Work With Justin Theroux

There are a few Angelina Jolie reports floating around and each includes some tenuous link to Jennifer Aniston. And this is no different, sadly (at least it’s not a more blatant cheating, baby or wedding rumour).

Because OK! managed to pass some secret law that no story be released about Jolie without shoehorning in some anecdote about trouble with Aniston, it’s reported Jolie wants to get romantic on-set with Justin Theroux.

Janet Charlton’s Hollywood reports that Jolie has signed on to a Salt sequel; without going into spoilers, the movie was relatively succinct but it did spend a superfluous 15 minutes or so at the end preparing for an unneeded sequel… it was all rather annoying and time-wasting when a conclusive end would actually have felt better. Well, she’s doing the sequel because she has six babies to feed and she isn’t going to become the female Tom Cruise falling into samey comedies like… Aniston?

Ugh. Okay then. JCH also reports, “[Jolie] took a look at the script, and according to a source, she casually suggested that producers offer a role to Justin Theroux. Yes, you read right, Jennifer Aniston’s boyfriend!”

If this sounds familiar, it’s because In Touch Weekly had the same story, but without the Salt 2 detail. “Now that Jen is finally happy again… her archenemy Angelina is trying desperately to stab her in the heart again,’ writes ITW. Adds a source, “Angelina is actively trying to set up a project in which she and Justin would work together…. [Jolie] has been a fan of [Theroux] for a few years, but she certainly wasn’t in a hurry to work with him before Jen started dating him.” Gossip Cop’s sources were pretty adamant that ITW’s home-wrecking story was false.

Jolie probably does just admire Theroux’s… talent.

This is going to be interesting, especially when the male roles in the first film felt like props. Moreover, Aniston and Theroux have just become more serious; moving into a rental together, while they look for one to purchase. Real estate sources tell People.com that a house was rented for them both August 1. “They decided to rent a house together while they keep searching for the perfect [one] to buy,” says the source. “Jen and Justin are very excited about living together in their home.”
