Anne Hathaway Covers Interview Magazine September 2011: Edgy Or Tacky?

August 17, 2011 by Hollywoodite

Anne Hathaway covers Interview September 2011, in one of the latest-release covers of the month. It kind of feels like the month for releases should be over already and Interview is bringing up the rear. It’s like, we’ve seen all the best September covers already and now they’re all going to be compared to this one.

Hmm. This cover…

It’s not great, but it’s not awful. At least Hathaway’s trying for an interesting pose. She’s giving it from the neck up and she kind of looks like an out-of-season zombie bride. The lace thing was played out last year, right? And the black and white thing’s a little brooding for August/ September, is it not? The only real splash of colour against the white background is the red lettering. This needs to be the Twilight/ vampire-theme issue. It’s just a little immature and gothic. A Fall cover should be a touch warmer or at least all out edgy in a manner more convincing.

Hathaway also appeared on last night’s Conan. She wrote and performed a rap about paparazzi-intrusion in the style of Lil Wayne, a fact that got more laughs than the announcement of the rap itself. She’s terrifyingly-enthusiastic. It’s the most entertaining and frightening thing you’ll see all day. It’s more amusing than the equally angrily-twee rap performed by Natalie Portman on SNL a few years back so that’s below too.
