ANTM Executive Producer Ken Mok Reacts To Renee Alway and Jael Strauss Meltdowns

Two contestants from cycle 8 of America’s Next Top Model have gone into freefall with their families staging interventions to save their lives.

Previously, Jael Strauss appeared on Dr Phil at the behest of her family who were desperate to save her life. Since appearing on ANTM, which she said exacerbated her substance abuse issues because of the added pressure, Jael had become a meth addict and a stripper who was literally unrecognisable (top, far right).

A few months later, her co-star Renee Alway made the news for her latest arrest and mug shot in what it turns out is a storied history of drug abuse and committing crime to feed her drug habit. Her family reached out to the media asking for Dr Drew’s help. They also revealed Renee is homeless and has been cut off from her family for using the money she’s given to buy more drugs. Since then, she’s appeared in court completely bald as a symbol of atonement and wanting a fresh start.

And now TooFab.com has spoken to ANTM’s executive producer Ken Mok about that season and what his reaction is. “Your heart goes out to them,” he said.

Another former contestant, Jaslene Gonzalez, also offered her sympathies: ”It blew me away,” she said. “I felt bad.”
