Armie Hammer Mug Shot From Arrest For Marijuana Possession

In news that somehow just leaked this week, Armie Hammer was arrested for drugs November 20, 2011.

As a guess, perhaps, his name/ his family’s money kept this out of the media for months. Honestly though, it backfired. The arrest and mug shot have been released just DAYS before the actor attends Sunday’s Screen Actors Guild Awards 2012 for which he’s nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in J. Edgar.

Would it not have been better to leak the news when no one would have cared?

In any case, Hammer, 25, was arrested after a drug-sniffing dog found 0.02 ounces of marijuana, three medicinal marijuana cookies and one brownie at a border patrol checkpoint in West Texas. The actor of The Social Network and Mirror, Mirror, spent one day in jail, in prison stripes judging from his mug shot, after which he was released on a $1,000 bond.

His lawyer clarified the district attorney declined to prosecute because the amount was less than required for a felony conviction.
