Bachelor Alumna Gia Allemand Rushed To Hospital, In Critical Condition (Update: Death Confirmed)

Bachelor alumna Gia Allemand was rushed to the hospital last night for what is being referred to as a “serious medical emergency event.” The former reality star is currently under the care of doctors at the University Hospital in New Orleans with her mother and her boyfriend, New Orleans Pelicans star Ryan Anderson, by her side.

“Gia Allemand was taken to University Hospital, New Orleans last night following a serious emergency medical event, the details of which are currently not known. She is listed in critical condition,” Gia’s rep, Jean Hayes, tells press. “On behalf of the family, we kindly ask for privacy at this time.”

Gia, who also starred in ABC’s Bachelor Pad, has received several well-wishes from her co-stars since the news broke. Among them were Graham Bunn who wrote, “Prayers @GiaAllemand & her fam/friends as she fights 4her Life NOT her time so lets make it known 2the play caller,” and Michelle Money who added, “Please please please pray for @GiaAllemand she is in critical condition. That’s all I know. But she needs prayers. Please RT.”

E! News correspondent and fellow Bachelor alumna Ali Fedotowsky also sent out her thoughts regarding the odd turn of events. “Please keep @GiaAllemand in your thoughts today. She’s in critical condition. That’s all I know,” she told fans, also adding, “Gia was in good spirits & appeared healthy when I saw her last Monday.”

UPDATE: Gia’s good friend Melinda Farina has updated fans via Instagram, revealing that Gia has been placed on life support. “#Deep #Prayers to my best friend @GiaAllemand who is in #ICU on life support right now,” she wrote. Melinda also told one particular fan that the incident “could have been an adverse reaction to something.”

UPDATE 8/14: Radar Online is reporting that Gia Allemand has passed away due to an apparent suicide attempt.

“While in her residency in New Orleans on Monday night, Ms. Allemand was found by her boyfriend, NBA Basketball Player Ryan Anderson, following an apparent suicide attempt,” a rep for the reality star explained. “Mr. Anderson contacted 911 and emergency medical crews were immediately dispatched to the scene. Tuesday, Ms. Allemand remained in the hospital unconscious in critical condition and on life support. Due to a critical loss of brain and organ function, life support was withdrawn today.”
