Bachelorette Castoff Drew Kenney: “This Process Was an Awakening for Me”

Drew Kenney was heartbroken when, after months of romance, Bachelorette Desiree Hartsock sent him home. Hartsock ultimately chose Chris Siegfried over a crushed Kenney. E! Online sat down with Kenny where he sounded off on his feelings for Hartsock and his opinion on the new Bachelor.
Kenney made it all the way to the finals on this season of ABC’s hit reality show, when he was told the crushing news that he was not the winner of Hartsock’s love. While on a date with the bachelorette herself, she dumped him and left him broken hearted. While he did feel sadness he harbors no hard feelings. “I didn’t have any anger towards her. I understood that she was going through something difficult,” Kenney spilled.
Kenney had strong feelings for Hartsock but he accepted the reality that she did not feel the same. “If she didn’t feel like she didn’t have that connection with me then I wasn’t going to sit there and try to convince her otherwise. That was something she needed to figure out on her own,” he admitted.
Hartsock also experience her share of heartbreak when contestant Brooks Forester was the one doing the dumping. Forester decided to exit the final three and his relationship with Hartsock when he chose to return home. Critics are asking how Hartsock can truly love Siegfried if she was sobbing and grief-stricken the day before he proposed, but Kenney knows they will get through he drama. “Des and Chris had plenty of conversations to explain herself and their connection was different than mine. I have nothing but good thoughts and good hopes for them in the future,” he said.
Ousted contestant Juan Pablo has been chosen as the next Bachelor and Kenney is thrilled for him. “He is wonderful. He is family oriented. He will take it seriously. Ultimately he wants what’s best for him and his daughter,” Kenney said.
Kenney is currently single and his stint on the show has shown him what he wants. “This process was an awakening for me. I realized there are qualities that I am looking for and I am ready to find them and ready to settle down and start a family and my future,” he revealed.
