Bad Girls All-Star Battle Gives Reality Stars a Real Reason to Lash Out at Each Other
May 24, 2013 by Mike Siegel
For those of you who love reality TV drama and obsessed over The Real World and The Challenge that has been aired on MTV practically since the stone age, you’re in for a treat. If you’re also familiar with any of the seasons of Bad Girls Club, you’re in for an even bigger treat.
On May 21, Oxygen premiered its newest reality series Bad Girls All-Star Battle featuring 14 veteran self-proclaimed “bad girls.” Hosted by singer Ray J, the show combines original aspects from Bad Girls Club (e.g. cat fights, weave pulling and a lack of self-decency) with physical and mental competitions, nominations and eliminations week by week, resulting in one contestant walking away with $100,000 and the right to call herself the “baddest b*tch.” Girls from seasons three, four, seven, eight, nine and ten are starring in this new program, including famous-yet-infamous past bad girl Natalie Nunn, who was seen in the media for controversies involving rapper Chris Brown. Let’s see if Natalie can dodge the other 13 girls like she did that media burst.
How the game works in details is simple. The girls are divided into two teams of seven players each: the purple team and pink team. Every week, there are two challenges: a captain’s challenge and a team’s challenge. In the former, the girls compete against their own team members to gain the title of team captain and immunity from eliminations. Then, the teams duke it out against each other to ensure that they all are safe from elimination and get to go out clubbing for the night. The losing team has to nominate two members for elimination and the winning team gets to decide who to vote out. While the rules may be seemingly complicated, they ensure great drama and entertainment. Let’s just hope that these girls don’t beat the living crap out of each other now that they have a real reason to.
Tune in to Oxygen at 8 PM every Tuesday to watch Bad Girls All Star Battle.
