Bethenny Frankel And Jason Hoppy’s Custody Battle Continues

September 16, 2013 by Lindsay Cronin

Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy have been battling over the custody of their three-year-old daughter Bryn since they split at the end of last year and unfortunately, it seems to be getting worse as time goes on.

In the latest development, the former pair took part in an “icy,” 90-minute court showdown on Thursday — and they wouldn’t even look at each other.

“They completely avoided eye contact and communication despite being within three feet of each other,” an eyewitness revealed to In Touch Weekly. ”As Bethenny made her way past Jason, he put his head down and busied himself on his phone. He couldn’t bring himself to look at her.”

Bethenny and Jason, who wore his wedding ring during the appearance, released a statement shortly after they parted ways, claiming that they intended to co-parent Bryn and split amicably. However, just weeks later, they both filed for sole custody which meant that they both wanted complete say in everything from Bryn’s religious choices to her schooling — and to have her full-time with the other getting minimal visitation.

After Thursday’s hearing ended, Bethenny left the courtroom in a hurry. “[She] seemed eager to leave,” the eyewitness explained. “Jason was much calmer as he walked out of the building.”

While the results of the hearing are unknown, it was likely one of many in which the pair attempted to come to an agreement and avoid trial, but at this point, a trial seems unavoidable.

It’s a shame that these two can’t work out their issues. Although it is understandable that they would feud over money or their home, their daughter needs them both and they shouldn’t be fighting to take time with her away from the other.

Earlier this month, Jason was reportedly spotted chatting with Kelly Bensimon, Bethenny’s former Real Housewives of New York nemesis, which is said to have amped up the tension between him and Bethenny even further.
