Bethenny Frankel: Remaining Sane Is “Difficult” During Divorce
August 7, 2013 by Lindsay Cronin
Bethenny Frankel and her husband Jason Hoppy are going through a messy divorce. The former pair can’t seem to agree on anything. From child custody to finances, a lot is still up in the air. The couple have even remained living together because neither party will move out. Things have certainly gotten ugly and it’s taking its toll on Bethenny.
“It’s been hard,” Bethenny told Life & Style. ”It’s been difficult to stay sane.”
When Bethenny first filed for divorce in January of this year, she told fans that she intended to keep things civil for her daughter’s sake, but as often happens in high income households, it didn’t quite work out that way. But despite the dire circumstances, Bethenny is trying to remain positive.
“For every rough thing there’s a reason for it, and there’s a reason you had those struggles,” she reasons. “When you’re going through a rough time, you have to say, ‘I know I’m going through these hard things and even though it’s difficult to see it clearly…the light is coming at the end of it.’”
In an effort to take her mind off the divorce, Bethenny has thrown her energy into her new talk show, Bethenny, which premieres on September 9. “We’re shooting two shows a day, three days a week — I’m really going hard-core.” The talk show debuted last summer in select markets to impressive ratings which led to the series being renewed nationwide earlier this year.
Also keeping her mind off things is her daughter Bryn. “[Bryn] is unbelievable,” Bethenny says. “She is the light of my life, and she gets me through this.”
