Bethenny Frankel’s Talk Show Continues To Struggle In The Ratings
Bethenny Frankel’s talk show was supposed to be the next great thing. Backed and supported by daytime queen Ellen Degeneres, the show seemed to have a recipe for success. Unfortunately, as the weeks have gone by, ratings have continued to drop and despite a few big interviews recently (including Elizabeth Hurley and Ellen herself), Bethenny has been unable to get them back up.
“[Bethenny] is ranked a disappointing #13 in the overall ratings again this week, which is down 11% from two weeks ago, and can’t seem to get the boost she needs to ensure a renewal when the season is over,” Radar Online reports. “Staying atop the ratings is ABC’s The View, which numbers have risen since losing hosts Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Joy Behar — and even with new host Jenny McCarthy, who a production insider tells Radar makes viewers ‘want to tune out the second she opens her mouth,’ more people choose to tune in to her than Frankel.”
“The big name celebrities don’t want to go on a talk show hosted by a former Bravo housewife,” their source adds. “It’s causing major drama behind the scenes of Frankel’s show.”
Bethenny’s talk show began airing last year in test markets, and because it did so well, it went into national syndication in early September. As ratings continue to drop, fans can’t help but wonder whether it will soon be dropped from the lineup.
“Right now Bethenny isn’t making any impact. Her ratings aren’t climbing and she needs a boost or else her career as a daytime talk show host is going to be short-lived,” the source explains. “November sweeps is coming and Bethenny better have something up her sleeve to bring in viewers.”
