Bethenny Frankel’s Talk Show Continues To Be A Ratings Disappointment
Bethenny Frankel isn’t having a good day. First, it was reported that she had been giving her talk show staff and guests the cold shoulder and refuses to play a part in the production of the series, and now, news of her once again dwindling ratings have surfaced.
“According to the rating numbers ending the week of Oct. 13, Bethenny is holding steady at number 2 in terms of talk show newcomers (behind Queen Latifah), but in overall household rankings she’s only bringing slightly more viewers than Arsenio, The Test and Trisha which are tied for number 16, and The Better Show,” Radar Online reports. “Bethenny showed no changes in their viewership from the week before — neither losing nor gaining viewers — and this will likely spell trouble for the struggling talk show.”
Although Ellen Degeneres, Bethenny’s friend and producer, appeared on the show earlier this week, the two are said to be having some tension between them over Bethenny’s lackluster guest list which she claims may be the cause of her ratings drop.
“[Bethenny] is absolutely peeved that she has been unable to get a big name celebrity to come on. Frankel was told numerous times by [Ellen] before the show premiered that she would absolutely help her in getting all of the big names in show business,” a source claimed. “During Bethenny’s trial run, [Ellen] pulled some strings and got Justin Bieber to come on. [Ellen]’ former booker is now working for Bethenny but he’s been unable to get Sandra Bullock,Gwyneth Paltrow or Miley Cyrus.”
In an attempt at boosting her ratings using her own resources earlier this month, Bethenny contacted her Real Housewives of New York co-stars in hopes at airing a reunion on her show. Unfortunately, Jill Zarin and Alex McCord both turned her offer down.
