Beyonce’s Documentary Life Is But A Dream Premieres February 16

The much-anticipated HBO documentary, Life is But a Dream, captures Beyonce’s… well, life. Intimate moments between her, Jay-Z, and their daughter Blue Ivy are obviously the highlights of this 90-minute special. The Grammy-winning “Queen B” executive produced and co-directed the film, which is filled with home movies and laptop confessionals.

The world knows Beyonce as a private person, sharing little of her personal life with a worldwide audience. While this can be seen as a benefit in many ways when it comes to celebrities, the public finds ways to scrutinize and make accusations. In this sole perspective film, she’ll expose her feelings on her personal life, from her marriage to Jay-Z, to rumors about her faking her pregnancy.

“People are taking pictures of you and exploiting your personal life as entertainment,” says Beyonce. “When Nina Simone put out a record, you fell in love with her voice… But you didn’t get brainwashed by her day-to-day life, and what her child was wearing and who she is dating. All things that are really not your business. It shouldn’t influence the way you listen to the voice and the art, but it does.”

Life is But a Dream premieres at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time on HBO.
