Beyonce: Talks About Postpartum Weight Loss & Going “Natural”

April 26, 2012 by Hollywoodite

There are a couple of additional Beyonce quotes, on the heels of the contrived World’s Most Beautiful Woman cover afforded because the 30-year-old gave birth this year.

It’s not that she’s not beautiful, because she is; but then, she’s been beautiful the last 15-years that she’s been famous and in all that time she’s barely been on the cover of People Magazine (nor the tabloids, she’s mostly overlooked, at least on the cover). But since getting pregnant, she’s become fodder; the postpartum weight-shaming, the Mommy Police, the rumour-mongering.

Beyonce’s given a longer series of interviews than was available in yesterday’s preview. Beyonce follows the claim that she conceived her “legacy” in narcissism then calls herself “natural” in the same breath.

On wearing flats and being natural: “I never thought there would be a day when I wouldn’t wear heels. Now that I have a child, I walk around holding her all day, I’m buying loafers and oxfords. I love them, because they’re comfortable, and shorter heels too. [Jay-Z] loves it when I wear flat shoes, which is surprising; he never saw me in flats before! He likes me more natural; just he relaxed, natural me.”

She once cut her own hair, which is getting people oddly-excited: “I recently cut two inches myself; I just parted it in the middle and chh-chh-chh!”

On her beauty regime… during birth: “I tried my best to roller-set my hair, and I wore my gloss when I arrived at the hospital. I committed myself to the end and wore my kitten heels. [But] after many hours of labor, I didn’t care how I looked.”

On breastfeeding for only 10-weeks, and workouts: Beyoncé also revealed how breastfeeding her little one for 10 weeks helped her lose “the bulk” of her pregnancy weight, but that she’s now on a strict-protein based diet. She now works out three times a week for 90 minutes, doing a combination of running, dancing and crunches.

On her progress: “I’m definitely softer, but I feel my body bouncing back,” she says. “Whatever was tight and muscular, like my legs, I’m seeing it come back. You just have to work at it.” – via People Magazine.

Beyonce also denies that a personal trainer lives with her. And it sounds like she’s over breastfeeding already. Blue Ivy Carter is closer to 16-weeks-old, which means Beyonce quit breastfeeding over a month ago. Probably.

For comparison of the weight loss, photos taken the first week of January are included with paparazzi photos taken March 19, and April 15 at which point she’d stopped wearing things so form-fitting.
