Blake Lively Won’t Be Bullied Into Gossip Girl Movie Because It’s A “Terrible Idea”

Gossip Girl wrapped its season six finale with the reveal of the titular character and the conclusion of plot twists and story lines that had been started in the first season. The show only had a few standouts, though, with so many of the recurring characters having been retired. Including Taylor Momsen who was fired for being an unprofessional brat.

Blake Lively has probably been the most successful person to come from the show, judging by movie roles like The Town and Green Lantern and endorsements such as Gucci and Chanel (in confusingly similar overlapping ads). And her star power increased a whole letter grade when she married Scarlett Johansson’s ex-husband, Ryan Reynolds.

Apparently, Lively’s not desperate enough to remain in the spotlight she will take on any old project. For example, right now she’s being pressured into taking on a Gossip Girl movie role she’s not really into. But she’s saying “No” because it sounds like a “terrible idea.”

Blake Lively is infuriating her former Gossip Girl castmates by refusing to take part in a big-screen adaptation!

“She’s being pressured on all sides to sign on,” reports a spy close to the cast, “but she thinks it’s a terrible idea and is desperate to avoid the project.”

Blake’s ex-colleagues are begging her to reconsider.

“Blake feels terrible for them, because she knows some are desperate for work, but she says she’s doing them all a favor… she’s convinced a Gossip Girl flick would flop even worse than her other movies, Green Lantern and Savages. She’s sticking to her guns on this one.” – Star Magazine print edition via Celebitchy.
