Blake Lively: Marchesa Wedding Dress; Lorraine Schwartz Rings; Martha Stewart Weddings

September 12, 2012 by Hollywoodite

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds got married this weekend in Charleston, South Carolina with little fanfare, without even announcing their engagement nor revealing Lively’s engagement ring, and without notice to the media who were only notified through a local radio station (95.1 FM @95sxCharleston) who were live-tweeting the whole thing as dictated by local sources. People.com were the first to publish the story with Us Weekly shortly behind. They’ve both made the wedding their covers this week even though they were overlooked for the exclusive in favour of Martha Stewart Weddings who will publish their spread in December.

Reps didn’t offer a statement about the engagement nor the ring nor the wedding itself. However, the designers who contributed to the wedding day issued press releases in order to be counted. Including Marchesa, who did the bride and bridal party’s dresses. The wedding dress was “one-of-a-kind couture bridal gown with a hand-draped silk tulle bodice adorned with crystal and rose gold embroidery.” Women of the bridal party wore “custom-made blush silk chiffon gowns with crystal embroidered detail,” also by Marchesa, according to the same release. The women all wore shoes from Christian Louboutin, of course. The groom and groomsmen wore “Burberry suits with custom leather suspenders” designed by Reynold’s friend Christopher Bailey, the head of Burberry. The couple’s wedding rings were by Lorraine Schwartz.

The only other incidentals included in the tabloid cover stories, since they’re non-exclusive, are the guest list and saccharine anecdotes about the day including the couple’s vows.

When they tied the knot in a surprise ceremony on Sept. 9, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds decided to recite vows they’d written themselves.

“They promised to support and love each other and to make each other laugh,” a source tells People in this week’s cover story. The groom “said he would treasure Blake; she said she would adore him. The whole time they were beaming.”

The rustic, romantic festivities, held at Boone Hall Plantation outside Charleston, S.C., featured whimsical touches, including after-dinner s’mores and a paper-lantern send-off.

The emotional highlight of the evening, however, was when Florence & the Machine singer Florence Welch, a close [friend of] Lively, performed Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

Although the guest list only included about 60 family and friends, the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants actress made sure to include her fellow sisters on that list. America Ferrera, 28, Amber Tamblyn, 29, and Alexis Bledel, 30, were all in attendance to witness Lively tie the knot.

The four ladies have remained close since starring together in 2005′s The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and 2008′s The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, which were based on Ann Brashares’ bestselling young adult novels.

The couple, who have been together less than one year, exchanged rings in an intimate ceremony on the same property where the 2004 romantic movie The Notebook was film. – via Us Weekly Magazine.
