Brandi Glanville Tells Shape Magazine About Her Plastic Surgery & “Haters”

March 9, 2012 by Hollywoodite

Brandi Glanville has an interview in Shape Magazine in which she addresses some of the common misconceptions about her that are, no doubt, exacerbated by her role on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (a show on which, oddly, hardly anyone is married or, at least, stays married… it’s all exes and random grilfriends/ baby mothers).

Anyway, Glanville gives an interview with the magazine in which she admits that being a model from a young age and living in the middle of a vapid vortex, she’s paranoid about ageing and uses tricks like “botox and fillers” to look younger to compete with the 20-something girls “in the same dating pool.”

She also addresses the “haters,” in what’s probably indirectly addressing the drama with her cheating ex-husband, Eddie Cibrian, and his mistress-turned-wife, LeAnn Rimes with whom Glanville’s recently been acting chummy in what appears to be photo-ops set up by Rimes to make her look like a better “bonus mom.”

On the haters who’ve surfaced since her divorce and joining RHOBH: ”People have said horrible things like I’m ‘plastic’ and I’m a bad mom. I think after three years of hearing it I have just developed a thick skin. I think it’s human nature, and I know what they say isn’t true so I’ve learned to not take it to heart.”

On her workout regime: ”After I drop my kids off at school, I head right to my Pilates trainer. I’ve had the same one for nine years. I started with her when I was pregnant with [my son] Mason. Before that, I had never even really worked out before. Once I got pregnant, everything kind of changed. Now I do three times a week and besides that, I stay active by going on bike rides with my kids, walking the dogs, or going for a hike near my home. I can’t even think about stepping foot on a treadmill.”

On easy ways to stay slim that she learned as a model: ”I always take the stairs instead of an elevator. Some supermodel, who shall remain nameless, once told me to always squeeze your butt going up and down the stairs and it works. Wearing heels all day every day is also like a workout. It’s the simple things that make sense. Like if you’re going to the mall, park farther away and walk.”

On her diet: ”I don’t have a huge sweet tooth. I would rather have pasta and bread than Crème Brulee. If I get pasta, I don’t have dessert. It’s all about balance.”

On her skincare regime: ”I get a spray tan every week. I also have issues like adult acne and Melasma (patches of skin discoloration) since I’ve had my kids, so I try everything… lasers, photo facials… and I wear hats all the time to protect myself from sun.”

On how to deal with the pressure to look perfect in Beverly Hills: ”Having grown up modeling, I’m very self-aware of my physical appearance. It’s hard to grow older, especially in this town where everyone is perfect. They’re all 20-years-old and gorgeous and I’m now in same dating pool as them, yikes, it’s really hard! This town makes you insecure. And yes, I’ll cop to a few plastic surgery procedures like Botox and fillers. I think everyone should do what makes them feel good but remember: Less is more.”

On her downtime at the finish of this season’s RHOBH: ”I love to cook. I grew up cooking for my family and learned a lot from my mom. We were a real ‘meat and potatoes’ family, a lot of comfort food, you know? So I took her recipes and put together a guide on ‘how to cook to keep your man’ (laughs). Obviously, we know how that turned out so I’ve changed the focus a bit. It’s now going to be about heart-healthier food that’s more affordable for single moms. So be on the lookout for that.” – via Shape.
