Breaking Amish: Kate Stoltzfus D.U.I. Mug Shot Photo & Modelling Photos

Kate Stoltzfus from Breaking Amish openly talks on the show about her D.U.I arrest and her modelling hopes, neglecting to reveal specifics that would cast doubt on the show’s authenticity. Details have leaked anyway, since there are several dedicated Facebook groups, ex-Amish bloggers, and former associates of the cast, exposing the show’s fraud.
Stoltzfus has admitted to her April 2012 D.U.I arrest for drinking and driving in Boca Raton, Florida that occurred right before the show began filming in May 2012. And that’s Florida, not her native Pennsylvania. She was arrested, booked, and a mug shot photo taken in which she appears to be crying which is smudging her make-up. One can only assume it’s frowned upon to wear make-up as an Amish woman. The 21-year-old says she would paint her fingernails with marker as a child. In her adulthood, however, any make-up and accessories and fashion magazines have been banned by her family as “vanity items.” So… she probably shouldn’t have been wearing make-up, nor drinking, nor driving, nor out-of-town, nor unsupervised, when she was arrested.
She explains her charges: ”I got charged with a D.U.I… it was, like, the worst thing in my life. I’m pretty sure my dad’s gonna freak out. My mom’s gonna cry. It makes me feel like a horrible person… I think it was just a really bad decision and a huge mistake. Just me being stupid and not thinking things clearly.”
Part of her personal premise for being on the show is, purportedly, leaving the Amish community for the “first time” as a sheltered technophobe. However, she had evidently left town at least once before filming. And she was technologically-inclined enough to pursue modelling online. Stoltzfus told New York Daily News about her arrival to New York City: ”My first reaction was like, ‘It’s so loud!’ I didn’t know anything about computer systems. I ended up spazzing out.” And yet, she had an online profile (cached copy) for the Explore Talent contest in 2010 (which someone else could have set up for her).
