Breaking Amish: Rebecca Byler’s Ex-Husband Announces On Facebook “It’s Not My Baby!”

Breaking Amish The Shunning Truth Part Two aired this weekend and was the final chance for the cast to address the rumours being spread about them in the media. If you call a completely accurate record of their criminal histories and marital statuses ”rumours.”
Most of the cast seemed to confess to the information revealed about them on the Internet. Everyone that is… except Rebecca Byler and Abe Schmucker who were asked about the baby girl who was clumsily dropped into the plot in the finale because they’d been beclouding her existence this whole time. Byler finally admitted to the baby’s existence but would not own up to paternity. She got defensive and Schmucker rudely shut down the host’s questioning altogether.
During the finale, Byler said: “I wasn’t with my ex when I found out I was pregnant. But I did call him and tell him and he absolutely denied that it was his.” Which is vague wording that sort of suggests it’s her ex-husband’s kid (more on that later). And during part two of the reunion, Schmucker said: “What I’m upset about… like Rebecca said, that’s her daughter.” Not “our daughter.” Which makes it sound like it’s not Schmucker’s kid.
However, Byler appears to be lying to fans that the baby is that of her ex-husband, Rufus Hostetler.
Another truth never addressed on the show was Byler’s extramarital affair(s). She cheated on Hostetler MONTHS into their marriage to be with Schmucker, with whom she’s been in a relationship since 2010 (she lied about that during the reunion too). About which Hostetler wrote on Facebok October 31, 2010: “I am tryn 2 figure out why in th world abe schmucker wud want to b a friend on face book afterall he left wht my wife.” Also, the family with whom Byler and Schmucker lived through the pregnancy in 2010 confirms Byler and Schmucker were in a relationship at the time.
Moreover, Schmucker’s own brother announced on Facebook back in May 2011: “[It’s] my bro Abe’s [baby].”
And now, making a lie of Byler’s claim that a nonspecific “legal reason” was prohibitive of her revealing paternity, her ex-husband, Hostetler, came right out and said it’s not his kid. Because it’s not. Byler was having (at least one) extramarital affair when she conceived.
Hostetler just wrote on BreakingAmishTheExpose’s Facebook yesterday: “For the record Rebecca’s child is not mine even though we were married. I haven’t heard so much stuttering from people making up lies to try and cover s**t up a huge fail on there part! Abe n Rebecca have been together since may of 2010 and that’s that honest truth no lie!!”
Asked by a fan who didn’t seem to know about the affair(s), “If rebecca know ur not the father then why did she went to u and told u she was pregger and u denied it??” Hostetler replied, “Well I never heard of a baby take over 12 months to be born do the math. That’s when the baby was born aprox. 12 months after she left so pretty sure it’s not mine.”
Hostetler continued: “She told me that she was pg 3 months after she left. She wanted to come back but I told her that I am sure it’s not mine she messed up screwed with the wrong people and that’s where we left it.” Adding: “It was right around 12 months after . she left me on 28 of march 2010Abe was living with us for awhile and I guess that’s when they started talking and she decided to run off with him. She took the train back east and a week later Abe went to be with her.I knew it was Gona happen nothing I could do to stop it.”
Addressing their divorce, Hostetler said: “2 yr. 8 mo. Since I last seen her. Our divorce didn’t get done till this past July.” Which is also true.
There’s more. During the reunion part two, Schmucker admitted he no longer spoke to his brother. Fans conjectured it may be because Byler (allegedly) slept with Schmucker’s brother too. Hostetler seems to confirm this: ”She also slept with Andy Abe’s bro. So could his to lol no lie.”
Andrew Schmucker, who was also featured on Breaking Amish, says it’s his brother Abe Schmucker’s kid. However, Byler’s ex-husband says it could be either of the brothers’ kid. (note: click image then once again… for larger version.)
Fans on Facebook asked for “proof” Hostetler is the ex- husband, clearly not having done their research, Googling, or any reading on the story, because they would have found the divorce records naming ”Rufus L. Hostetler, Jr.” and his posts from 2010. “Trust me I wouldn’t lie about that,” he says. “If u do the research you will find all the proof u need.” He had a point, addressing fans who could have fact-checked on their own, and he stopped replying after that.
