Report: Britney Spears Finally Signs $15 Million X Factor Deal

There have been rumours since shortly after the engagement announcement that Britney Spears would become an X Factor judge.

There were several supposed favourites, and “maybes,” including: Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Fergie, Beyonce, Mariah Carey (and rumours that LeAnn Rimes appears to have started about herself). However, the rumours about Spears have been consistent and noisy. And most appear to have been true.

The singer’s camp reportedly wanted a $20 million offer, but Fox negotiating the price, eventually settling for $15 million for each season. Although the number of seasons and the terms of the contract are not known yet because the network is refusing to confirm or deny; probably until such time as it’s relevant for press.

But E! Online sources claim: they’ve settled on the price, Spears has signed a contract, the conservators are on board, it’s been okayed by a judge that Spears is willing and able to perform the job. Whether she can really do so, though, will remain to be seen.

A source says: “She’s ready for this. She can’t wait to sit down next to Simon at the judges’ table and give this everything she’s got. There’s been a lot of back and forth over the past few weeks as they negotiated the small details, but she’s on. It’s all complete. Britney is excited.”
