Buckwild Cast Reaction To MTV Cancelling Show: “Shain Would Want Us To Carry On”

April 10, 2013 by Hollywoodite

Earlier today, TMZ.com broke the news that Buckwild would be effectively cancelled after only one season following the death of a cast member. This was also confirmed by E! News’ sources before any sort of statement had been issued by MTV. Subsequently though, a producer has issued an angry statement about MTV giving the show the green light last Friday only to change their mind and cancel everything without warning cast nor crew. And now the cast have confirmed themselves.

With the news breaking before MTV told anyone involved in production, the cast were initially incredulous that the show had been pulled at all. They angrily lashed out, Buckwild’s Anna Davis wrote, “Clearly @TMZ would not know OFFICIAL news like that before THE CAST… Nothing is official yet. Everyone chill.” Cara Parrish added, “I wish @TMZ would try to publish accurate stories or have an ounce of respect for people mourning tragedies. #SickF**ks” Except TMZ were completely correct, the show is over. Learning the report had been correct, the cast urged fans to make “#KeepBuckwildForShain” and “#MTVDontStopBuckwild” trending because they claim it’s what the deceased and his family (would have) wanted. Davis wrote shortly after “Cannot believe in 1 hour you guys already got #KeepBuckwildForShain nationally trending ?! #fantastic”

For now @mtv has decided to stop filming Buckwild but we are looking into other show options in order to keep doing what Shain would want.

Our fans are amazing.#KeepBuckwildForShain is trending nationally. I wish @mtv would respect his parents wishes & what he would’ve wanted.

— Cara Parrish (@CaraFnParrish) April 10, 2013

Thinking of filming for @mtv without Shain hurts me clear through my soul but the thought of turning our backs on his dreams is worse.

So you all as our fans and ppl who love Shain, tweet to @mtv if you want to keep the show. Show your support. Loretta and Dale want this.

— Anna Davis (@MTV_Anna) April 10, 2013

Shain would want the show to go on. #KeepBuckwildForShain

— Anna Davis (@MTV_Anna) April 10, 2013

The show has been cancelled and my heart is in a million pieces. Shain would want us to carry on. His parents want this. So do we all.

— Shae Bradley (@mtvshae) April 10, 2013

Please show your support and tweet @mtv to tell them you want the show to continue.

— Shae Bradley (@mtvshae) April 10, 2013

This isn’t right. This is the wrong decision. @mtv #buckwild retweet for more. #forshain

— Shae Bradley (@mtvshae) April 10, 2013

The whole cast wants to continue filming and raise ten kinds of hell in Shains honor. Give you all the best second season ever. Or a movie!

— Shae Bradley (@mtvshae) April 10, 2013

@mtv can have shows about horrible parents and horrible influences and were just good people having good hearted fun and Shain was the best

— Shae Bradley (@mtvshae) April 10, 2013

We love our fans and you can show your support for #buckwild by tweeting at @mtv and telling them your thoughts.

— katie (@MTVs_Katie) April 10, 2013

We want #buckwild to go on as much as you do. Shain would be so pissed about this.

— katie (@MTVs_Katie) April 10, 2013

Knowing from personal experience, the last month of Shain’s life was wild and amazing. You’re gonna wanna see it. @mtv

#KeepBuckwildForShain

Davis continued the conversation by re-tweeting everyone supporting the show and making a Keek.com video.

Accused of basically fame-whoring and only thinking of themselves in wake of the cancellation, Shae Bradley wrote, “And to all of you who say we’re doing this for the money, you’re ignorant. It’s about a group of best friends that just lost one. We want to keep our friends memory alive and live like Gandee,” adding “No matter what the #buckfam will keep fighting for our angel and stick up for what he would want.”
