Camille Grammer Speaks Out About Cancer Diagnosis

Camille Grammer decided to walk away from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills earlier this year after filming wrapped on season 3, telling press that she had chosen to quit in order to focus more on her kids and her new relationship with boyfriend Dimitri Charalambopoulos. Although it was certainly hard for Camille to walk away from the women she had bonded with, her exit ended up being a blessing in disguise.

Earlier this year, Camille was diagnosed with endometrial cancer which is common in women and affects the lining of the uterus. Ever since, she has been focused on recovery.

“This whole cancer surgery recovery is some process. Progress is being made & I am venturing outside for nice walk today,” Camille wrote on Monday.

Weeks ago, Camille’s rep spoke out for the first time, announcing the news of her recent medical battle and revealing that she had just been operated on.

“She underwent a radical hysterectomy today,” Camille’s rep, Howard Bragman, told PEOPLE Magazine on October 11. “The surgery went well and she is expected to make a complete recovery following a significant recuperation period.”

“[She] has been diligent about regular checkups and monitoring, which explains the early detection and rapid treatment,” Howard said. ”Ms. Grammer expresses gratitude to all the amazing health care professionals who have taken such loving and nurturing care of her. She urges all women to be aware of genetic factors relating to women’s cancers and get regular checkups.”
