Teen Mom’s Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra are currently appearing together on VH1′s Couples Therapy, during which they’re expected to have a series of blow out fights that evidently ended their engagement.

The couple would have been married already but decided to call the whole thing off. At least for now, as their parents confirm.

The doctor from Couples Therapy, Dr. Jenn Berman, also confirms the wedding is off and offers some firsthand insight as to what really went wrong.

“She was floored. She didn’t see it coming,” Dr. Jenn Berman, their Couples Therapy psychologist exclusively tells In Touch. The resident couples counselor says she ultimately sees it as a positive move for the young lovers, who are still living together in Michigan. “I don’t view it as a setback,” she explains in the new issue of In Touch, on newsstands now. “To get married before you are ready is disastrous. By calling off the wedding for now, they are giving themselves a chance for a long and healthy relationship.”

Last week, In Touch exclusively revealed that Teen Mom fan favorites Catelynn Lowell and fiancé Tyler Baltierra’s July wedding plans came to a halt. The shocking confession that Tyler isn’t ready for marriage has left fiancée Catelynn reeling: “It’s absolutely devastating,” a friend of the pair tells In Touch.

In recent months, the couple’s relationship has been put to the test, spending time apart while Tyler pursued an acting career in New Orleans and Catelynn stayed behind in Michigan. “Tyler just isn’t ready for marriage,” Dr. Berman tells In Touch. “He was so afraid of hurting Catelynn’s feelings that he hadn’t been honest with her.” – via In Touch Weekly.
