Chris Brown: Not Sorry, Playing The Victim, Gross Pick-Up Line
The week following the 2012 Grammy Awards has been one long clusterf**k of “Oh, it must be totally awesome to just about beat someone to death and be rewarded at the Grammys with a two-performance/ one award hand-job by the organisers.”
Right after the awards aired, a bunch of misguided children with daddy issues and impulse-control issues started a Twitter trend by claiming Chris Brown could beat them whenever he wanted and he was worth the licks to the face just to date him (incidentally, since then “RIP Chris Brown” started trending in retaliation).
The young fans’ argument? He’s not perfect, because domestic assault is on a sliding scale along with locking yourself out of the house (an actual mistake) or neglecting a partner (something regrettable but fixable in a relationship). It was three years ago he badly beat a woman, so we should give Brown a second chance.
A bunch of those fans deleted or changed their Twitter accounts soon after the screen caps of their requests went viral.
To counter that, Brown is still remorseless and he’s still aggressive.
His second chance came during his perfunctory, scripted YouTube apology; his THIRD chance came on GMA, where he broke a window during a hissy fit.
During and after the Grammys, a bunch of celebrities with sense tweeted, basically, “Um, he beat another performer so why is he being rewarded?”
In all fairness, Rihanna’s over it and Brown was reportedly invited to her birthday party. Which, obviously, means beating her was okay. Right? Right?!
Well, not so much.
* Miranda Lambert tweeted: “Chris Brown twice? I don’t get it. He beat on a girl … Not cool that we act like that didn’t happen. He needs to listen to Gunpowder and lead and be put back in his place. Not at the Grammys.”
* Jack Osbourne tweeted: “Chris brown…people don’t forget! #chrisbrownbeatswomen… If Chris Brown had worn a wife beater, the irony would eclipse the whole show #chrisbrownbeatswomen.”
* Wil Wheaton tweeted: “Everyone who apparently forgot what Chris Brown did to Rihanna should read the police report on exactly what he did.”
* Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet tweeted: “Are Chris brown’s mom and dad CBS and Grammy Brown?”
Right after, Brown reacted on Twitter with “Strange how we pick and choose who to hate! Let me ask u this. Our society is full of rappers (which I listen to) who have sold drugs (poisoning). But yet we glorify them and imitate everything they do. Then right before the worlds eyes a man shows how he can make a Big mistake and learn from it, but still has to deal with day to day hatred! You guys love to hate!!! But guess what??? HATE ALL U WANT BECUZ I GOT A GRAMMY Now! That’s the ultimate F**K OFF!” A source told RadarOnline.com that was tweeted by some random who manages Brown’s feed, not Brown himself. So Brown ordered that be deleted.
Shortly before deleting everything but 11 tweets in his feed, yes, really, Brown wrote: “DEAR MEDIA.. Ur plan is not working…I’m not going anywhere so get used to me. How long is this gonna take?” Yeah, now his Twitter’s barren.
In a related story about Brown thinking his abusive, angry behaviour is funny, Us Weekly claims he uses the assault in a pick-up line.
Chris Brown, who pleaded guilty in 2009 for felony assault for hitting then-girlfriend Rihanna, approached an attractive brunette Feb. 10 at the Lasio Professional Hair Care suite Grammy gift lounge and asked her, “Can I get your number? I promise I won’t beat you!” the woman tells Us Weekly.
“He and his friends laughed, then one yelled, ‘That’s his new line!’ Ugh! I wanted to throw up!”
Counters Brown’s rep: “I’d be surprised if Chris said something that stupid.” – via Us Weekly Magazine.
