Police finally caught the person who hacked the accounts of 50 people. 35-year-old Christopher Chaney of Jacksonville, Florida was caught on Tuesday, and he was in court on Wednesday only to be released on a $10,000 bond, the FBI confirm. The FBI released the names of some of his victims, with their consent: Christina Aguilera, Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis, Renee Olsted, and someone identified only by “J.B.” who’s thought to be Jessica Alba.

Chaney faces up to 121 years in prison for 26 counts of identity theft, unauthorized access to a protected computer and wiretapping. His indictment makes clear his fairly basic methods, no tools or scripts were used… he literally Googled information about celebrities and with access to a handful of addresses guessed their passwords and exploited their email provider’s forward message feature. With an inbox of forwarded mail, attachments and now other celebrities emails, he lather, rinse, repeated. He didn’t even make any money off this pointless project, he offered the nudes to websites for free.
