Report: Has The Cleveland Show Been Cancelled By FOX?
This morning comes the news that FOX has cancelled one of the staples of Seth MacFarlane Sunday that is The Cleveland Show. Back in March, TVByTheNumbers.com reported “The Cleveland Show finally moves from “likely to be canceled” to “certain to be canceled” this week.” It’s less than one month later, and some outlets are reporting that it’s already over.
According to CartoonBrew.com, the show has been cancelled following an obvious decline in popularity. FOX seemed keen to promote the show in the beginning, and marketing efforts indicated a desire to make the Family Guy spin-off a success (unlike American Dad that FOX allegedly tried to bury with a lack of marketing and questionable time slots). However, viewers were not tuning in. The show was a dud. And now it’s a cancelled dud.
Seth MacFarlane’s The Cleveland Show had been widely expected to be canceled, and The Animation Guild recently confirmed that the show is finished. The show had a respectable four-season run on FOX comprising 88 total episodes.
Fox Animation Studios is still humming along with Family Guy and American Dad so MacFarlane remains busy, though an undetermined number of Cleveland Show rank-and-file will likely be laid off. – via Cartoon Brew.
