Clueless Reunion Covers Entertainment Weekly; Remembering Brittany Murphy On GMA

The cast of 1995′s Clueless have reunited 17-years after the release of the movie (the made-for-television version less some of the movie’s cast began in 1996).

The stars of the movie in attendance of the recent Entertainment Weekly reunion photo shoot were: Alicia Silverstone who played Cher Horowitz, Stacey Dash who played Dionne, Donald Faison who played Murray (now best known for Scrubs), Breckin Meyer who played admittedly “dirty… greasy” skater Travis, Elisa Donovan who played Amber “Whatever”, Twink Caplan who played Miss Toby Geist, and Justin Walker who played Cher’s (gay guy) swain Christian (he’s now a restaurant owner).

The late Brittany Murphy, who played Tai, passed away in 2009.

Missing from the EW cover and the Good Morning America interview that took place during the photo shoot were: Paul Rudd who played Cher’s stepbrother swain Josh, Wallace Shawn who played Mr. Wendell Hall, Dan Heday who played Cher’s dad Mel Horowitz, and Jeremy Sisto who played Elton (who was an early choice to play Jack Dawson in Titanic and who’s now on Suburgatory).

EW said of its cover: The high school satire may have evolved into a coming-of-age classic, but not every cast-member was immediately smitten with their character. Alicia Silverstone recounts her first impression of Cher: “I thought, ‘Who is this girl?’ I had nothing in common with her at all. I thought she was a materialistic, annoying little b**ch.” She and co-star Donald Faison also admit that they didn’t immediately get most of the now-famous slang in the film. Says Faison: “I had no idea what the hell I was saying. What the f**k is a ‘Monet’? What’s ‘going postal’ mean? And when they explained to me what it meant, I thought, ‘That’s really messed up!’”

Here’s the interview on Good Morning America. And the two EW covers (featuring Alicia Silverstone, 36, and Stacey Dash, 46 and… DAMN, she needs to retire from public view before people realise she drank that potion from Death Becomes Her and/or there’s a portrait ageing in her attic like in The Picture Of Dorian Gray).
