Courtney Stodden Said “Let’s Start Drama” On Couples Therapy; Her Mother Is Delusional Too

It becomes more and more apparent each day that Courtney Stodden is promoting Couples Therapy, a beleaguered shill ahead of the release of Stodden’s new single, the 18-year-old is merely a conduit for her stage mother’s failed ambitions.
Stodden’s mother Krista Keller is the girl’s manager and co-signed the marriage between the minor-at-the-time and the older man she got to know over the Internet. Keller also appeared in cameo on Couples Therapy to explain where she went wrong with her daughter who doctors at the facility asked if she had ever been molested because she presented so unusually hyper-sexual for someone so young (Tyra Banks made the same assertion while interviewing Sasha Grey a few years ago).
Keller admitted her own ambitions for a reality show after VH1 producers lauded the appearance. And now Keller is going full Kris Jenner and will begin asking for money for interviews.
Krista “thinks Courtney should be paid to do interviews,” [a] publicist [says]. “Krista knows that Jessica Simpson, Kim Kardashian, and Justin Timberlake got paid for [their] wedding pictures. She can’t understand why Courtney shouldn’t get paid.”
“Both of them have lost perspective of their real value. They see all the photographers following Courtney around and have convinced themselves that Courtney is one of the hottest celebrities in Hollywood. Now they are seeking to turn this fascination into cash,” the publicist added.
“It’s easy to make fun of Courtney, but stranger things have happened in Hollywood. Who would ever have thought Kim Kardashian or Paris Hilton would become so famous?” asks one celebrity weekly editor. “If she sells magazines, then she is being smart asking to make money too.” – via The Huffington Post.
There’s more. House mate Alex McCord tells The Huffington Post about Keller: “Krista’s attitude is pretty telling. She said that parents have an obligation to set good examples for their children, and the other people on this show didn’t set good examples. Newsflash: None of us are Courtney’s parent. We were not there to parent her or anyone else. That’s Krista’s job, not ours, not Dr. Jenn’s and not Doug’s. Frankly, if Krista had done a better job of example-setting and parenting to begin with, Courtney wouldn’t be acting out as she does.”
That “acting out” includes Stodden getting “angry,” to use McCord’s word, when the teenager is being ignored.
Simon van Kempen added: “Perhaps Krista, if you had been a mom first and a momager second, you might just have instilled in your daughter the ability to respect others. Prior to any interaction with other cast members, your daughter was heard saying to her husband ‘let’s go and start some drama’ and that she did. Courtney also disrespected her own husband by returning to the house that day dressed in a way which defied Dr. Jenn’s dress code, as she’d not discussed it with him first. Respect is earned and Courtney has done nothing so far on the seven episodes that have aired, to earn any.”
