David Dunn Is Anna “Chickadee” Shannon’s Father, Grandfather Of Baby Kaitlyn Shannon
All of the daughters in the Here Comes Honey Boo Boo household have different fathers, according to reports today and by June “Mama” Shannon’s own admission.
The eldest daugther Anna “Chickadee” Shannon, 17, was sired by construction worker David Dunn, 34. As in, David Michael “Sugar Bear” Thompson, 40, is NOT the girl’s father; Sugar Bear is only father of Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson.
Mama, 33, admitted on the show she was very young when she and Dunn conceived Chickadee: “You know, I had Anna when I was 15. I’m not gonna lie to you. Yes, it is very hard. I had a job. Had to worry about taking care of a baby. I dropped out and got my GED. I mean, it was just too much for me.”
Chickadee is also a single teenage mother after giving birth to baby girl Kaitlyn Shannon, born weighing 6 lbs at 7:11 p.m. July 26, 2012, to whom Dunn is now a grandfather. Mama explains further the comparisons in their situations, history repeating itself: “Anna’s baby’s daddy ain’t in the picture. You think that boy’s gonna love and care about you? Negative. All that boy is wanting is to get in your biscuit and get a little piece, and he’s running.”
Dunn, who also goes by “Shorty” and “Bart Simpson,” tells National Enquirer he didn’t know he was a father until his daughter was four-years-old (13-years ago) when taken off prison work detail for a child support hearing. He says: “[June] took my virginity and I took hers. Anna looks just like me. They wanted me to sign away my rights to Anna, but I refused. I don’t know who my own daddy is, and I always want Anna to know who her father is. But June won’t let me see her.”
Dunn was previously “sentenced to prison for stealing a handgun in 1995 and again in 1998 for stealing several cartons of cigarettes,” reports the Enquirer.
