It looks like Demi Lovato is ready to let bygones be bygones…the singer and X Factor judge recently opened up about her desire to patch things up with former best friend Selena Gomez.
According to The Huffington Post, Lovato admitted in an MTV interview that things broke down between the two approximately three years ago. ”We’ve been through a lot together,” she said. “We’ve had periods of times where we grew apart and we just didn’t really talk.”
It now appears the two have decided to patch things up, since they are growing up, which Lovato also revealed in the same interview. ”Now we are in a place where I think we realized that life is so short and that when you have people in your life that love you so much then, you should just always be around them. She’s going to be a big sister, and I want to be around for that. Everything about her… she has a great soul, she’s talented, she’s beautiful, and she will always be really, really close to my heart.”
It hasn’t been easy for the two of them to reach this conclusion. In an interview in 2010, Lovato slammed Gomez’s loyalty during an interview with Girls Life magazine. “We’re both busy” she stated. “I wish the best for her. True friends don’t let their friends or family be mean to you. If you can’t trust somebody, you can’t be friends with them.”
The two first became friends while filming Barney and Friends as children, and their friendship continued to flourish as they starred in the Disney channel film Princess Protection Program.
