Demi Lovato Warns Friend Miley Cyrus “Just Be Careful” Taking Drugs

Miley Cyrus is making her increasingly heavy drug use part of her promotional trail in order to appeal to other 20 somethings who, for whatever reason, are risking their own health by experimenting with narcotics (seemingly under some alarming delusion that using drugs like cocaine and ecstasy is “normal” and “everyone does it”… it’s not and they really don’t).

In any case, after initially denying the obvious drug references in We Can’t Stop, Cyrus eventually admitted to a British newspaper that the “lines in the bathroom” and “dancing with molly” lyrics are about the club culture of using drugs recreationally. She adds, though, if the fan is 10-years-0ld and has no idea what those things are it doesn’t even matter. Moreover, she adds, there are worse things going on in the world than her taking drugs.

Friend Demi Lovato, recovering from several personal issues who seems to be winning the battle for her sobriety, is concerned, though.

“She knows how I feel about the whole partying thing…” Lovato told MTV News recently. “And I’m always like, ‘Just be careful.’ And she’s like, ‘Dude, I’m chilling. It’s fine.’”

And for now, Lovato says she accepts that without question. “I care for [Miley] so much [that] I’m so protective, but she’s good,” Demi insisted. “She’s got a good head on her shoulders.”

“I surround myself with people that are beneficial in my recovery and my recovery is still a daily battle and I definitely hang out with people that support me in making the right decisions,” Lovato adds. “I’m a happier and healthier person today because of the choices I’ve made.”
