Demi Moore & Ashton Kutcher: What Went Wrong? Open Marriage?

November 18, 2011 by Hollywoodite

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are officially done, following the demise of their sloppily-maintained open marriage. Oh, that. The part Moore didn’t mention in her marriage statement (the most terse since Will Smith and Jada Pinkett spoke of their marriage remaining “intact,” offering no warmth at all).

There are a bunch of reports today so, in no particular order, here are the Cliffs Notes for what went wrong.

* A source has spoken to RadarOnline.com to reaffirm what people have been whispering about for years; Kutcher and Moore reportedly had an open marriage. The supposed insider claims: “Everyone in Hollywood knows about their arrangement, but they’ve managed to keep it a secret from the general public. Demi is attracted to women just as much as men, so she didn’t always get all she needed from Ashton. She was cool with Ashton having flirtatious relationships too. Somehow they made it work all these years. Both of them were respectful of each other. It was a lot of fun for them.” So Moore, reportedly bisexual, enjoyed her own “flirtations.” She just threw Kutcher under the bus in her split statement because he got sloppy. She was humiliated that people knew. Yet SHE knew about  the other women. She was complicit. She was physically-present, more often than not. Which jives with what 2010 mistress Brittney Jones told Star, last year… to the letter.

* LaineyGossip.com suggests there was also strain because of Moore’s inability to start a family. More specifically, since she already has kids with Bruce Willis and Kutcher referred to them as his own “daughters” not the vaguely-aloof “stepdaughters,” Moore wasn’t getting pregnant and Kutcher was cold to the idea of adoption. Lainey reports: “My sources tell me that the more accurate explanation might be that it was hard for both of them when she couldn’t get pregnant. And he was supposedly resistant to adoption. As a concession, they apparently decided to have their extracurricular fun together, only on specific occasions, like private parties, when they were both around, both in view of each other, and never alone, never on their own, never without the other’s immediate consent every time. For her benefit mostly. As time went on, it wasn’t enough for him and he broke their agreement, going rogue behind her back. That’s one version of the story. ”

* Moreover, notes Lainey, Kutcher is/was young, horny, and sloppy. Emphasis and deliberate repetition of sloppy. As shown in the wording of yesterday’s statement, Moore knows how to handle her business; she’s calculating and deliberate. Everything Kutcher does feels like he just tripped and fell. It’s all a panic and ill-thought out. Lainey adds: “He was only 25 when they started dating, 27 when they married. These are not the actions of a man who wanted to stay; these are the actions of a man who was too weak to tell her he wanted out, and sabotaged it to the point where she had no choice. Ashton Kutcher is a child and a coward.”
