Conflicting Reports About Demi Moore’s Supposed Rehab Stay

February 9, 2012 by Hollywoodite

No one can seem to agree what’s going on with Demi Moore. Earlier this week, RadarOnline.com claimed that Moore entered the Cirque Lodge rehab center in Utah for the treatment of drug issues and anorexia. The website elaborated that Moore would stay in rehab for around 30-days. Later, RadarOnline added that Moore had weigh-ins every few hours while facing backwards in order to make sure she wasn’t losing any weight which was somehow not meant to draw further attention to her issues.

When Demi Moore checked into the Cirque Lodge rehab treatment center in Utah for anorexia and an addiction to prescription pills, she wasn’t allowed to see her weight on the scale, and was weighed backwards because her treatment team doesn’t want her focused on how much she weighs.

“It’s common treatment practice at Cirque to not allow patients that are being treated for an eating disorder to see how much they weigh when they step on the scale,” an insider [says]. “Their weights are taken everyday, sometimes several times a day to make sure that they aren’t losing weight while in treatment. Doctors at Cirque don’t want patients to fixate on their weight.”

“Eating disorders are all about control, plain and simple. When someone is in the ravages of an eating disorder, their lives are typically out of control. The one thing someone with an eating disorder believes they can control in their lives, is food. Demi isn’t being forced fed or chastised for not wanting to eat though. The counselors at Cirque are working on giving Demi a safe and controlled environment, she is getting the best care possible. She is also dealing with an addiction to prescription medication, and she has a comprehensive team taking care of her.”

“People just say Demi should just eat something, well if it were that easy, she would. Anorexia is a very serious disease, and treatment can take three months before a patient begins to see success,” the source says. “She will likely stay at Cirque for at least 60 days. She doesn’t have a roommate currently, but that could change though as she advances through the program.”

During the first several weeks Demi will have very little contact with the outside world, this lets her treatment team keep their focus on getting her healthier, without distraction from the real world.

“Demi won’t be allowed to call anyone during the first week, nor can she receive any phone calls. As time goes by, and if Demi is doing well, her doctors will allow her to have limited access to her cell phone for a small amount of time,” the source states. – via RadarOnline.

So the amount of time has changed from 30-days to 60 from one report to another.

And, hours later, TMZ.com’s sources said resolutely that Moore never entered Cirque Lodge at all except they offered no elaboration nor further information about what she has been doing: “There have been multiple reports by various outlets Demi Moore is getting treatment at the famous Cirque Lodge in Orem, Utah. [However] TMZ has confirmed with multiple sources familiar with the situation that Demi Moore is not at Cirque Lodge.”

And since RadarOnline.com is owned by the same people as Star Magazine, it’s a fair assumption that Moore’s not at Cirque Lodge and these are just spirited fabrications. So, as other outlets have been reporting, she’s probably at home being visited by ex-husband Bruce Willis and estranged husband Ashton Kutcher (RadarOnline pretty explicitly denied that she’s at home, and her reps aren’t confirming, so who knows).
