Did Farrah Abraham Have A “Horrible Childhood?” The Millionaire Matchmaker’s Seems To Think So

Farrah Abraham of MTV’s Teen Mom shocked fans, and most of the country, when she signed a deal to release a tape featuring herself and adult star James Deen. No one would have suspected that Farrah, a young mother and aspiring model, would go to such lengths to extend her 15 minutes, nor did anyone expect the drama that followed.
Shortly after news of the tape broke, Farrah had a falling out with her mother and moved to Texas where her father, Michael Abraham, was living. During the negotiations, Michael stayed by Farrah’s side in what made for a few odd photos as well as some awkward video footage.
Since the days of 16 & Pregnant and Teen Mom, Farrah’s relationship with her parents has been a bit strange. Although they always helped her with Sophia, 4, Farrah didn’t seem to have much respect for either of them (she calls her dad “Michael” instead of “dad” even though he is her biological father), and that may be an issue stemming from her childhood.
Recently, Farrah admitted that she and her mother, Debra Danielson, haven’t always got along and that, throughout her younger years, she and both of her parents had “bad relationships.”
Now, Millionaire Matchmaker Patti Stanger seems to think that Farrah’s childhood may have something to do with her decision to do an adult movie.
In her review of the new movie Don Juan, Patti wrote, “It’s a special kind of girl that does [adult movies], and it’s usually somebody that’s had a horrible childhood.”
Farrah’s childhood was certainly not ideal. After getting pregnant in her teens, Farrah suffered the loss of her child’s father, Derek Underwood, just one month before her baby was due to arrive. Not having Derek around for support and to help raise Sophia was a strain, but once she became a recognizable face (with the help of Teen Mom), Farrah wrote a couple of books, released an album, and landed a couple of modeling gigs. Then, after the show wrapped, Farrah appeared lost and unable to find work.
For Farrah, going from being a successful reality star to someone unemployed seemed to take its toll and lead her down a dark path in which she was determined to get her fame back — even if it meant baring all in a tape.
Watching Farrah’s progression to the tape looks to be a desperate attempt at getting herself to the level that Kim Kardashian has reached after she sold her own tape years ago.
“A lot of mainstream girls are using [adult movies] to get noticed,” Patti continues. “[It] is like what Playboy was, where you’d appear on the cover and become pseudo-royalty, and now, if you do [an adult movie] you’ll get a reality show, like Kim Kardashian. It’s the Paris Hilton blueprint to get yourself noticed. Teen Mom’s Farrah Abraham just did it, and some people are criticizing her for it, and some people are OK with it.”
While it may be one thing to make and sell a tape, it’s another to make and sell a tape as a mother. Farrah’s daughter is just 4-years-old now, but one day, she is going to find out that her mother is an adult star and for any child, that can be devastating. Hopefully, the news won’t lead Sophia down that same dark path.
