Engaged Peaches Geldof Six-Month Baby Bump In Hello! Magazine

Peaches Geldof has been busy. She pretty much jumped from one relationship to another, upon her split from director/ producer Eli Roth. Her latest is musician fiance Thomas Cohen. This will be at, least, Geldof’s second or third engagement, depending on whether you believe the rumours about she and Roth becoming engaged just before they imploded. And she’s having a baby after falling pregnant months into her relationship with Cohen, whom she met four-years ago but only began a relationship last year.

Geldof clarifies, there are no plans to have a shotgun marriage after what one can reasonably deduce was an OOPS: “We first met four years ago and we bumped into each other last Christmas [2009] on Portobello Road in Notting Hill, London, and started dating again… and that’s also where he asked me. It was romantic. I’m really happy. But we don’t want to get married for a couple of years yet.”

On her baby boy being due on her late mother’s birthday: “It was amazing for me when they told me that, very emotional and touching and just really beautiful. I was so happy… Ifeel like it’s a little wink from my mum; her way of sending a message to let me know that she’s watching over me and my baby.”

On her father’s reaction, on December 26, finding out his daughter hid her pregnancy for five-months: “Oh my God, he was so happy, especially as I’m having a boy. The poor man’s been surrounded by women up till now. I knew he would be happy, but I didn’t realise how over the moon he would be. He’s always been very supportive of me but he was really overwhelmed and emotional.”

On why they kept it secret: They wanted time to “enjoy this sacred time as a couple,” before sharing the news with their families.”

On her father welcoming her fiance: “He offered Tom a glass of champagne and told me he was glad it was Tom because, of all the boyfriends I’ve had, he’s the favourite. He told us we must never break up; that we must make our child happy, get married and be together forever.”

On buying a house in White Chapel, East London: “I guess, when you get a mortgage, somehow you become obsessed with things like oven mitts and garden furniture and couches. I never thought it would happen to me, but it’s like the high point of my life now, buying vintage sofas. I’ve been going insane on eBay.”

On becoming calmer with these life changes: “I’ve become very much domesticated. I’m a fan of doilies: I’ve been collecting them, different ones, embroidered doilies, much to the chagrin of my long suffering fiancé… On how she’s One thing I don’t like about Whitechapel is all the graffiti. I’d much rather have a Turner than a Banksy. I can’t stand all that hipster stuff, sadly. You’d think I was the epitome of it, but I’m, actually, really boring. Recently, I’ve been staying in with my fiancé every night of the week, watching films like Babe. The most exciting it got recently was a night out to see Arthur Christmas.”

On moving up the wedding date: “[The wedding will] probably to late this year or early next. It will be quite a traditional wedding. We want our son to know that he has a mummy and daddy who will be together forever.” – via The Daily Mail, Hello!

Honestly, Geldof’s a wild-child at heart. She makes bad decisions, rushes into relationships with bad guys, exercises poor judgement; she’s a caged, recovering addict (like her late mother), a shoplifter, a drunken $cilon hipster, who takes nudes with skeevy guys. Any hopes she’ll magically change after her OOPS are as optomistic as hopes it’ll do the same to Kimberly Stewart. Getting preggo successfully tamed Nicole Richie, also a former heroin-addict. However, one assumes 90% of that detox involved detaching from Paris Hilton.

Well, good luck to Geldof. She’s still a mess on the inside, she’s going to need it. She’s still making sketchy decisions. That part about waiting to tell her family after five-months, rather than the more usual three. Another sign of immaturity?

The daughter of late television presenter/ heroine addict Paula Yates and Live Aid co-founder Bob Yates previously married another musician, Max Drummey, in a Las Vegas drive-thru ceremony, after a 10-day whirlwind. The marriage ended in 2009, after six-months.

Her baby with Cohen is due on what would have been her mother’s birthday, April 24.
