Episode 3 of Glee Will End Appearances Of Cory Monteith

After Cory Monteith passed away on July 13th due to a heroine overdose, Glee went on a two week break. During this time, the show’s creator will work on finding a way to respectfully end appearances of Cory’s character, Finn Hudson. Producers revealed that he will be written off the show in the 3rd episode of season 5 (which now airs September 26th). This episode will serve as a tribute to Cory. The two week break will also give the cast and crew a chance to pay their respects and begin to move forward from the tragedy.

Finn Hudson was one of the main characters of Glee. Because he was central to the story line, this season’s plot will undoubtedly undergo major changes. There is now not only an emotional stress on Cory’s former cast-mates, there is stress on the writers to make quick changes. According to Huffington Post, creator Ryan Murphy said, “Ultimately, we decided the best thing for everyone is to get back to work and be around people that knew him and loved him so that everyone can grieve together.” He added, “I don’t know how to write about the death of someone I love.”

One of the reasons it was especially hard to watch the star pass away was because the cast was engaged in helping Cory with his addiction struggles. TMZ reported Ryan saying, “It’s always sad and shocking when somebody so young dies, but one of the things that made it even more upsetting is that so many of us who knew and loved him were actively involved in trying to get him better.”

Hopefully, the producers are able to bounce back from their loss with a great season. However, it will not be the same without this main character and fans will surely miss him.
