Ev and Ocho Reality Show Cancelled? Did VH1 “Pull” Chad Johnson & Evelyn Lozada’s Spin-Off?
Newlywed Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson was released from jail on $2,500 bond for alleged domestic violence after his wife Evelyn Lozada ran to a neighbour’s house to call 911 reporting that she’d been headbutted after catching Johnson with condoms in the couple’s car. For those who forget, or who don’t watch the show, a clip shows Lozada appearing to give Johnson permission to cheat so long as it’s using condoms and he’s honest about it later. Except, she clarified at the reunion, she was just trying to be realistic and manage both of their expectations.
Hours after his release from Broward County Jail in Florida, Johnson was called to a meeting with Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin who fired Johnson from the team.
And now, still only one day after his release from jail, TMZ.com has a statement from VH1 addressing the newlyweds’ Basketball Wives spin-off about planning for their wedding. The statement says: “Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series Ev and Ocho from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it.”
